Actual Abuse

I have no need or desire to discuss issues of child abuse within the Family. Too many words are wasted on what the public wants to hear. I come to walls at times trying to publish articles which must be first sliced and diced by the editors, so that their readers will digest it better.
Since you have started reading this page, countless children have been abused.
I don’t think you know what kind of abuse I mean.
I don’t think you truly know what it is to be abused until you have been forced by a demonic, possessed, crazed witch to hunt down and kill innocent people.
Not just innocent people.
Your own parents.
And not just kill them.
Eat them.
Yes. Eat them. Slowly.
On a wooden barbecue stick, roasted over the open fire, the coals charring that piece of meat which was once the mother who nursed and loved you.
And tomorrow, you will be forced to kill again.
And to eat again.
I’ve heard the meat is kind of sweet.
Maybe CNN should cover those stories. Maybe the newspapers who feed off drama should tell it like it really is, here in the heart of Africa, so that the public can focus on real issues.
They should know that Family members like Jakisa give their lives and all ambitions for the cause of those children, and hundreds of child soldiers, to rescue and to save them from abuse.
But does the public even really care?
The world has no idea what really goes on. They don’t know who the true abused on this planet are.
And don’t tell me they give a shit. They pay attention to stories spun on fragments of thread whose memories existed some time 30 years ago.
In the last two weeks, I have traveled through 3 continents and visited 6 unique Family homes. Yes, I live in a remote place called Uganda, but I’ve been in enough places in 23 years of living in and out of the Family to know what really goes on.
What really goes on is that children are sheltered from the atrocities in the world. Lucky Family children are protected from crime. The environment in which they are raised is as good as it gets in the world today. Their parents do their best.
My host family in Sri Lanka is preparing for a trip to the coast to bring humanitarian aid to thousands of displaced children. They are Family members. They are doing the best they can.
As I sleep tonight in a warm environment, with clean sheets, a roof over my head, a glass of wine in hand and a plate of breakfast waiting for me tomorrow morning, it gives me no comfort to know that countless children are being abused.
REALLY abused. ACTUALLY raped, traumatized, and psychologically messed up.
I’d like to add a clause about genitalia removal but that’s just gross.
Ponder it during lunch-break today. And when you can relate to that kind of abuse, let me know.
The world has greater issues to deal with. The media should start with those.
Now. Can’t we all just get along???

What Nyx here is saying is that because someone's abuse was worse, the kids abused in The Family International didn't have it so bad by comparison. This puts things out of context. Yes, there are kids who are made to kill and eat their parents, and this turns them into little child soldiers. There are also kids who are made to sever all ties with their parents, denounce them as "demon possessed" and give their loyalties over to a group that cares little for their welfare unless they are working like a slave for them for free. This turns them into little 'soldiers for Jesus'. No matter which way it is done, both are a kind of evil. One may sound worse than the other, but the psychological effects are both devastating.
But I digress. I am not comparing the two, because I was born into one, and I have worked extensively with child soldiers in Africa. Evil comes in many forms. Both are programmed to perform whatever the leaders of their group, be it rebel army or Jesus freaks, tell them to do. Both suffer mind control, both are not given education, real choices, both are slaves to a hard master. What Nyx is doing here is trying to divert attention from very real issues of abuse within The Family International by saying that it wasn't abuse, because there are kids who have had it worse. Does that make it alright? Does that make it all better? What kind of answer is that? Let's not muddy the waters over this issue by throwing in sensational lines like "eating parents" (which is extremely rare, btw) for the shock factor. That's what cheap tabloid magazines do.

i guess i did read it like that.i didnt even see what she was saying.it's the awareness of these issues that i wanted to be in the fore frount of my mind and i guess i noticed this post because of the "shock factor".
i am by no means advocating what she is communicating, and maybe having her most on my wall make it seem that way. naivety seems to have got the best of me but it has produced an even better response from you
