is it a male female thing? taking an extreme view...
Woman care more or are more concerned about the journey? E.g. if girls go on a night out together, getting ready together, accessorising is as much of an event as getting there. A successful night is the dancing and being silly with friends, the destination is feeling closer to each other .
Men care more or are more concerned about the destination? E.g. guys day out... lets write down a list of all the sights and go see as many as we can. A successful day is dependant on how many places we go to, or how many things we do
Woman are more concerned about the journey and men are more concerned with the destination?
process vs result. They are mutually inclusive but men and woman are polarised towards different points. This could probably be generalised even to sex. More times than not, woman care more about the process and men care more about the result. The process and the result both exist, you cant have one without the other.
If one works from the process point then the process determines the quality of the result.
If one works from the result point of view then the intended result determines the process.
Perhaps this could be further simplified as big vs small. Is it the small things that matter or is it the big things that matter.
They both matter so they both need to be involved so what's the point? I guess it depends on who you're speaking to. If I want a guy to be as excited or if I want them to recognise something as important then, I'd have to communicate with them from a result point of view e.g. when we xyz it's going to be great. And for woman, I'd appeal to the process point of view e.g. on the way there we can stop and enjoy the moment
